LAU (Pronounced /lɑu:/) is Laura Fares, an Argentinean singer, songwriter, drummer, producer and prominent figure in the Synthwave and Retrowave scenes, currently based in Barcelona. Her music blends Retrowave and Synthpop with a strong 80s influence.
LAU’s debut album ‘BELIEVER’ was released in 2021 with acclaimed success and international press coverage. The album reached #14 on the Apple Music Electronic Album Charts in Canada, #3 in Turkey, #4 in United Arab Emirates, #5 in Finland, #7 in Switzerland and #12 in Ireland.
LAU’s second album 'CIRCUMSTANCE' was released in February 2022, reaching #7 in the UK on the Apple Music Electronic Album Charts, #2 in Paraguay, #4 in Portugal and #6 in Switzerland.
